ABOUT THE PROJECT

The Belonging Co is a church movement based in Nashville, Tennessee founded by Pastors Henry and Alex Seeley in 2014. The Belonging Co has been releasing live recordings of original music written by their team since 2017 and has seen millions of streams and is seeing an impact around the world.

An important part of what The Belonging Co does is host a 3-day, annual conference called, The Belonging Co Conference. We worked alongside the teams at The Belonging Co to develop the “Holy Water” campaign for The Belonging Co Conference 2022.

The mandate of The Belonging Co derives from 2 Kings 2:19-21. “The people of the city said to Elisha, “Look, our lord, this town is well situated, as you can see, but the water is bad and the land is unproductive. “Bring me a new bowl,” he said, “and put salt in it.” So they brought it to him. Then he went out to the spring and threw the salt into it, saying, “This is what the Lord says: ‘I have healed this water. Never again will it cause death or make the land unproductive.’

We wanted to bring this scripture to life and use this as the creative back-bone for the theme of their conference in 2022.

DEVELOPING THE STRATEGY

"Holy Water" is rooted in creating sculptures out of water and various liquids. We would see desert landscapes and water in places it doesn’t belong, and we would see it thrive. Creating a visual baseline for us to continue in communicating our mandate: to clean the waters, we would use high-speed cameras to capture sculptures of water.
